Hawaiʻi Island Volunteer Opportunities w/ Hawai‘i Wildlife Fund

Hawaiʻi Wildlife Fund

On Hawaiʻi Island, we offer monthly community beach cleanup events, environmental education opportunities for keiki (in person and virtual), native plant seed collection events, and wetland/ anchialine pond workdays! For more details about volunteer events, please check our website calendar. You will be directed to an HWF team member that can help you complete your sign up.

During the last two decades, marine debris, resulting in a massive accumulation of floating plastic pollution in the world’s ocean, has become a significant threat to native wildlife. Endangered Hawaiian monk seals, threatened green sea turtles, humpback whales, dolphins, fish and coral frequently become entangled in abandoned nets, fishing lines and other debris. Please consider participating in one of our clean-up events to help remove these hazards to our native wildlife!

In addition, HWF has joined forces with the Mālama Hawaiʻi Program! Mālama means to “care for, preserve, give-back,” and by volunteering with us, you could qualify for a special discount or even a free night from a participating hotel (including the Fairmont Orchid on Hawaiʻi Island).

We’re excited to have you join us!
